Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/01/2013

Number: 1

They arrived April first as I noted here. They seem to be fewer this year, but I'm not sure. They are nesting in several areas of the apartment complex where I live. They have not used the nest I put up for them, however, one of them, which may or may not be one of the babies I rescued two years ago and who I developed a connection/relationship with, sleeps on the porch light fixture outside my door, and I hear them outside my door during the day quite a bit (April 17). I live on the third floor, we have covered porches...I love hearing them chatter, and saying "good morning" and "good night" to the swallow who perches outside my door.
