On a visit to Henry Horton State Park I observed a relatively fresh female Monarch clearly looking for milkweed just off the native tree exhibit trail. She flew low over the surrounding grassy area, dipping repeatedly. I checked some of the areas where she had been, but could not find any milkweed. The area was mostly non-native grasses - a mowed area.
