Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 04/19/2013

Number: 1

Saw 12 Bald Eagles today from 3-5 pm while travelling along Hwy 11 from International Falls, MN to Baudette, MN along the Rainy River. 2 were juveniles, the rest were adults, including 1 sitting on 1 of 2 nests. Some soared over us, most were in trees, and 2 were roadside eating road kill. They both flew off when we turned around to take pictures. Crows were harassing the ones eating road kill and we could hear the eagles calling from the trees. We were returning to Canada from my Uncles funeral, where an eagle was the theme. It was mentioned several times that he loved to watch wildlife, especially eagles and deer. What a special way to end today.
