This morning about 7:30 I went out to the garage to retrieve some pamphlets on the Jefferson Choral Society's annual golf tournament from my car. To my total delight as I came to the fence gate, I saw my first hummingbird of the season. He was a ruby throat perched on the tulip blossom and searching the area for other food.
He spotted my hummingbird feeder and zipped off to drink his morning breakfast. I've not seen him this afternoon so I'll keep a watch out for him. Spring is definitely here. I've also seen another wave of goldfinch some are molting.
