Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/22/2013

Number: 1

A pair of swallows returned to the nest in the horse stall today. We have had nesting birds for about 9 years now. Never more than one nesting pair, although they may raise two batches of fledglings. Each year I watch to see if the birds (or their offspring) will return once more. When I finally spy them circling way up high and then watch as they glide in to the barn stall,I experience a wonderful sense of joy.
