A very tattered and faded Monarch was seen this a.m. 4/23/13, just before a cold front hit. It was clinging to a willow baccharis in a creek bottom. There are milkweed in the vicinity both antelope horn and zizotes, although in scattered patches. This is the first Monarch I have seen this year. There are also plenty of Prairie Verbena, Mealy sage and various flowering plants and trees nearby. Kimble County, near Junction, Tx.
