Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/23/2013

Number: 1

At my home garden, Monarch Waystation #271, I saw the first male rubythroated hummingbird nectaring on my native coral honeysuckle Lonicera sempervirens, which has been cranking out blossoms for the past week or so. It bloomed sporatically all winter long. I've been looking for hummers for weeks but never saw one until today about 5:45 pm. Between my neighbor's hummer feeder and my honeysuckle & Columbine, there's plenty of food here. I'm adding Lady in Red Salvias this weekend.
