The robins were eager to be here. We had a mild winter so earthworms were probably available. About 2 weeks ago I observed a robin trying to get ahold of the synthetic ribbon so to speak, of the pine straw bales I had ordered. I cut some off and they disappeared rapidly. Several days later we noticed a nest in our oak tree, with the tell-tale plastic ribbon material!! We were so excited that thay took it and nested.
Of late we have noticed that the birds LOVE our dried mealworms that we had been providing our Carolina wrens. Have not seen babies.
