First male monarch arrived in my El Dorado, California yard today April 24, 2013 - an old and tattered monarch that had overwintered on the California coast. He could still fly pretty strongly despite his age and wing tattering and he wouldn't land long enough for me to get a photo of him resting. So these are four in-flight photos I captured.
