Our first caterpillar from the eggs we reported in Dallas on 4/9/13 is hanging in a J and ready to make a chrysalis. We have 15 caterpillars that we are raising between home and various classrooms. I've been visiting Harry Moss park to collect milkweed to feed the larvae, but I have yet to see another egg! We had one busy Monarch mama on 4/9 and none since, it seems. It is unusual. We have had a colder day once a week for the past few weeks, so maybe this odd weather is slowing the migration. I hope we see more eggs soon! We will release our butterflies as they develop and send them to those of you further north!
