We have counted 6 separate birds in the 19 mile stretch between Cowley and Powell, Wyoming, although most days we are more likely to see two or three at a time than the 6 we saw together on this day. We have seen them off and on all winter. They are usually in wide expanses of flat, empty farmland, on the ground or eating carrion along he highways.
