We went out on my grandfathers farm to see if there were any milkweed plans sprouting, and we found 12 A. Syriaca plants that were anywhere from just breaking through the soil to 1/2 in. It was a low sixty degree day and raining. Fries is up in the Blue Ridge mountains of southwest Virginia about 8 miles from Galax.
