While sitting outdoors, I sensed something whiz by. I set out 1 part sugar 4 parts water that had been heated and cooled earlier in the day in a hummingbird feeder. Sure enough, within a couple of hours, I saw a ruby throated hummer quickly drinking from the feeder.
