I first heard and then saw my first hummingbird yesterday 04/30/13. I live at 8800 feet elevation in the Denver Front Range foothills. We typically have a large population of hummingbirds over the summer and I was a little surprised to see this one so early. We are having a late winter storm today here in Colorado and I hope the hummingbirds find a good place to ride out the snowy weather.
