On April 18 on SoWestLep@yahoogroups.com> highly experience lepidopterist Ken Davenport reported: "Monarch (Danaus plexippus): Randall found three large larvae on a small milkweed plant at Ant Canyon and showed me these. I saw no adults." Ant Canyon is location on the North Fork of the Kern River, about 11 miles north of the town of Kernville, California in the far southern Sierra Nevada mountains.
