Leaf-Out (Any Species)

Date: 05/05/2013

Number: 1

Boxelder trees behind house showed first green this morning.
Numerous flowering trees dropped bud covers on sidewalks, streets this week in between ice, snow and rain showers. Here in the St. Croix River valley our ice went out several weeks ago so we are probably just a little ahead of our latitude seasonally. There has been concern about song bird food and leaf cover as those little buggers are anxious to hatch the next generation for Fall's southern flight.
