First ruby-throated hummingbird of the season showed up yesterday! We are in Central Mass., at a 1,000 ft. elevation, two blocks from Wachusett Mountain (2,300 ft. elevation). They usually (in the last 20 years) arrive between May 6th through 11th (mostly on May 9th), but we typically set out our feeders April 26th-- just in case. Glad to have them back!!
