Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 05/06/2013

Number: 1

Enjoyed watching two robins spend most of the afternoon making an excellent nest in the cover of a tall evergreen tree (balsam) in my back yard. Female seemed to be doing most of the housework:) She carefully fished out some big wet leaves from the pond, added plenty of dried grass, and mud as well. Many trips back and forth. Male was also involved working alongside female in the tree as the nest took shape. Temps are expected to be in the 60s and 70s this week. Good to finally see all the snow gone!
