Greetings again from Virginia's Eastern Shore! Common milkweed is now about 8 inches tall in my yard and new plants are popping up every day. This is an area in my back yard near my barn where I planted 5 plants 6 years ago.(I dug them up from the roadside...and now I usually have about 100 huge stalks each year in this spot!) I also have butterfly weed and scarlet milkweed in my flower beds that have been up for a few weeks. Cooler than usual temps in this area have made for a slow start this spring.
