Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/10/2013

Number: 1

A male ruby throated hummingbird made it's way towards one of our nectar feeders at the back of our house on our deck. While I was on the phone I saw him hovering around the feeder. He swung past a few momemts later. We also have many rhodoendrons and azaleas but not in bloom yet. Every summer we have at least two pair of humminbirds in our yard. I hope that this is one returning from last year.

It;s so exciting! Our neighbors also have their hummingbird feeders up so that there are lots of places for this first migrant to have a well-deserved lunch.
