Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/11/2013

Number: 1

Just wanted to update the hoards of Rubies still trying to get to the feeders. This is such a complete surprise over the normal Spring and Summer population at our house. It is almost like the Fall south migration. There are time when we spot 3-6 hungry little birds trying to get a drink. Most of the feeders are now guarded fiercely by an adult male so it is impossible to get a shot of the swarm. This shot is of one of the especially fierce males!
