I had my field glasses out admiring a Scarlet Tanager, which I have never had at my feeder in the 34 years I have been here. A flash of orange caught my eye and I was thrilled to see my Baltamore Oriole back this season. I purchased some orange suit cakes and they are a hit will all the birds. The Oriole is usually at my grape jelly feeder and not my large seed feeder, but he too likes those orange suet cakes!
I am still waiting for my humming birds. I usually have at least 3 at my feeders in April and they stay all summer. But this year I have yet to see any.
