Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/11/2013

Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 reports the first monarch adult seen flying past the garden in directional flight at 9:50 am this morning. Weather from yahoo weather at the time: partly cloudy, 76 degrees F, wind SSW~13mph [breezes on and off]. Was not stopping for anything or meandering; from what I could see at a glance it was not fresh in color, but strong flight implied it was a new adult. It was heading ESE following the building frontage as if in a hurry. Too fast for me to tell gender, just whipped on by! Welcome back!
