My beloved "Rubert" is back! A second male hummingbird visited the feeded an hour later. Last year (2012) Rubert was here May 2, his earliest arrival ever. Normal arrival is +/- May 10th - so a little late, but so was Spring. Now everything from the bleeding hearts to lilacs to the apple orchard are in full bloom for the hummingbirds to feast on. Bliss!
