One male ruby-throated hummingbird checked out our feeder beside a hanging basket of red petunias and another of red begonias. It's a cool, drizzly evening, so he must need the food energy for warmth. He's visited 3 or 4 times since 5:50 PM (it's now 6:20). The guy at our garden center said I wouldn't see any till August - I guess he didn't put his feeder out at the end of March like I did!
