We had a pair of local Bald Eagles - Liberty and Patriot - who have nested in Redding for 7 years. This year, everything was normal, 3 beautiful eggs were laid. On March 1, 2 other Bald Eagles have come in. One egg came up missing. One of them ate both eaglets when they hatched. On May 10, just 10 days ago, the male was in an aerial battle with one of the others and fell to its death. A very sad story this season.
