Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 05/17/2013

Number: 1

Discovered mother Robin nesting in the River Birch tree in our driveway circle. She has been sitting on the nest non-stop. The nest sits about 15 ft up cradled in the crook of the tree. The nest is neat and looks snug but where she put it is not the place I would have chosen. It looks as if the nest will dismantle if big winds and wild weather come. We have caterpillars eating the leaves of the trees this year and she is losing shade as each day goes by. She is undisturbed by me gardening under her nest and the dogs and cars coming and going.
