I found a Yellow-Billed Cuckoo Bird on our back patio. Sadly, he must have died from a collision. : (. He was a beautiful bird. It was the very first time for us to see a cuckoo bird. I read that they are in TX from April to October and they are an endangered species in CA. I do not know anyone who has ever seen a cuckoo bird here before. So sad to have a first sighting under these circumstances. I read that they sometimes fly at night. I wonder if this was the case because we have a large covered patio (pergola) and rarely ever have bird collisions. Bless his heart. What a lovely bird and memorable experience.
