Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/24/2013

Number: 1

All of our eggs from earlier this month are now chrysalides.
We ended up with 43 eggs…..and we also rescued a few larvae that we missed as eggs.
So a total of about 47 in all.

We are still seeing Gen 1 Monarchs occasionally in the neighborhood and around the house.
Our daily temps in the 90’s are slowly browning the vegetation…..and the native milkweed is developing seed pods.

While walking to check on the state of the native asperula plants around us….
I was surprised to find a few viridis plants in the fields.
This is a first for us……we had not noticed them previously.
Actually observed some young asperula and viridis growing side by side.
