Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/24/2013

Number: 1

I had reported spotting my first hummingbird on Saturday, 5/18/13. Looked to me to be a male. Now, today 5/24/13 there are two of them. I'm assuming the 2nd one is a female. Lots of activity at my feeders. Personally, I don't go by the old rule of thumb to change the nectar once a week. I do it every few days. Keep the freshes nectar in there. Through the years, it would appear that they respond to it very well.

I'm looking forward to each day now. Won't be long, and the youngsters will be out & about too !! ... of course I'm jumping ahead of myself here. First they need to hatch !!!
