Dr. Mike Plagens reports: This butterfly has survived overwinter and is now very heavily worn. It appeared weak and barely able to fly, but was, none-the-less, continuing to move in a northerly direction. It is flitting about a milkweed plant, Asclepias asperula. See photo:
