Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/02/2013

Number: 1

My 9 year old son told me that he had seen a monarch a couple of hours before. I asked him which way it flew. As he told me I realized that the monarch few towards a patch of milkweed that I had seen growing in the ditch. So I went looking for it. I saw two bright strong male monarchs out in the ditch. They were sunning themselves on the milkweed and grasses. Once in awhile they would flutter around together but only to fly their separate ways and wait in the grass.
