Today, our first sunny day in a long time, at about 2:30 pm, I saw my first female monarch butterfly getting nectar from a newly planted Butterfly Bush. It had a few flowers on it. Otherwise, not too much is blooming with our wet, cold, and cloudy spring. Near by was some common milkweed where it laid one egg and then flew off over my house not to be seen again. I am so excited.
