Twenty of us were out in the field monitoring for MLMP this morning and saw our first female laying eggs. She was quite faded in color, but had all of her wings in tact. The students followed her and watched has she landed on a few plants in the prairie. Out of 1000 plants, we only found 9 eggs today. Still very slow going!
