Yesterday, checking our vegetable garden, we spied what we thought was our first Monarch, however looking closer at it, it was a Viceroy. It's left wing was tattered around the edges, but it flew just fine. We have a bumper crop of Milkweed this year, and are still patiently waiting for the Monarch's to arrive.
We found 3 Black Swallowtail larva, on our fennel today.
