Was ***thrilled*** to positively ID a Monarch flying around in my neighbor's field around 11:40AM! Five days ago, I was driving when a butterfly that looked to be the right size and shape of a Monarch flew over the road/my car as I was driving..., but I couldn't take my eyes off the road. :-} It was a silhouette against the bright sky... .
Very odd--I did not find *any* eggs 'til June 18th. And I only found a few 1st instar cats and eggs, and only in the location where I normally find a healthier bunch than this at this time of year... .
