Saw a single monarch in my backyard. This was the first, and only, monarch I have seen so far this year (as of July 1st). However I did find a very small caterpillar on the milkweed on 6/29, so there must be females around. I have not been able to find the caterpillar since, but we have had lots of rain so I am not checking regularly.
