As promised I traveled to the cranberry bog yesterday and a few other fields looking for monarchs or eggs after a 2 1/2 search I found nothing I even brought a magnifieing glass with me. This is extremely sad to me.This time last year I had already raised from eggs found 100 monarchs. This year I have but two eggs found in my milkweed in my front yard. I've check all milkweed plants I find as well as my own on a daily basis. My search turns up nothing. :((((((
I have my fears that the monarchs that were lucky enough to survive the migration this spring / summer will not be enough to return for their fall migration to return next spring 2014. Its truly heartbreaking !!!!
