I spotted milkweed growing along the road near my home. There is also a lot of milkweed at a pond that we frequent. I have planted 8 new milkweeds (two varieties) this year in my garden. Last year I planted 6 milkweeds and they came back and are very large and dense. I just await Monarchs! Last year we monitored about 25-30 caterpillars and nearly all metamorphosed into butterflies!
