Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/02/2013

Number: 1

Finally, our very 1st monarch of the season here in northern New Jersey. A very brightly colored female nectaring on Buddleia in the backyard garden at 2:45 this afternoon. It was in the high 70's F today and drizzling on and off all day and extremely humid as it has been for the past two weeks. Exciting to finally see our first Monarch though. Haven't had the opportunity with all of the rain to see if she was in the mood to leave any eggs. Will check tomorrow if the weather clears a bit.
