I have butterfly weed,(orange,) and milkweed planted in the east facing front of my house for the butterflies and birds that visit my gardens. I have plenty of milkweeds and other native plants for Upstate, NY., to encourage the wildlife. The Monarch is beautiful and I have been waiting to see one since last year!
