As a first time gardener I have a few swamp, tropical and very small "hairy balls" plants growing. I have finally seen a monarch on my swamp milkweed today laying eggs! I am very happy my garden is finally being used for its purpose of the monarchs (and other butterflies). I have brought the eggs in for safe keeping. (11). Now I am not sure if it is one of the monarchs we released from my sons birthday present but hey its a monarch!
