I was happy to see two male monarchs fighting over my milkweed patch yesterday afternoon. They were spiraling together up in the air for quite awhile, but eventually one flew off. The victor patrolled the milkweed and nectared for several hours, but unfortunately no females showed up :(. Temps were in the upper 80's. This is only my fifth sighting of the year.
