I spotted a female Monarch nectaring on Wild Bergamot at Kenesserie Tallgrass Prairie today. Today is my first confirmed siting of a Monarch for this year. My first siting is usually in late May. I did make some observations a few weeks ago but was unable to confirm the species because they were too far away and Viceroy butterflies are common here so I did not report them to this web site.
