The second year of disappointment for Monarchs. Milkweed are flowering, many varieties of flitillaries abounding and lots of bees but of monarchs only one every so often, rarely staying long. I think only seen 4 or 5 this season, and maybe some are the same one on consecutive days. I have found my second caterpillar 2 days ago, but again it too has disappeared, not big enough to have created a chrysalis. so maybe it is just hiding in all the milkweed so I will keep looking for it. My milkweed is just outside my door so I check it often.
