Last evening at 8:15, a female Monarch butterfly lighted upon a butterfly bush in partial bloom in my backyard. She flew south for a short ways over a sparse field behind the house and circled back. She may have settled on the bush for the night. Milkweed plants are planted below the bush and around the yard. Will look for eggs today. She appeared to be in good shape. Photo attached.
