Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 07/23/2013

Number: 1

Greetings again from Virginia's Eastern Shore! Spotted a lone monarch out on one of our barrier islands this past Tuesday...(Cedar Island) It was resting on the sand, then flitting around...no vegetation (too early for goldenrod)for nectaring. Actually, this is a very narrow fragile island anyway, and made even more so because of Hurricane Sandy last Fall. I couldn't tell if it was a male or female either, because I couldn't get close enough. It was a warm and windy day, so it needed to rest a lot while fighting the wind! Anyway...we just enjoyed the time we had watching! Hoping to see more soon.
