No monarchs seen at large patches of fascicularis milkweed about 5 miles north of Winters, Calif. nor in the Davis, Calif. area July 27, 2013 despite clear skies, mild temperatures and light winds. So the monarch breeding population in the lower Sacramento Valley appears to be very low and well below the numbers seen in July 2010-2012
