Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/28/2013

Number: 1

Adult Monarch seen at 12 noon near Lake Willastein. This sighting was the first of the year. Could not get close enough to determine sex. The monarch was flying on the edge of Lake Willastein. A second monarch was seen the next day (7/29/13). It was in our front yard and stayed for several hours, feeding on the nectar plants. Got real close so could see this one was a male. We have about fifteen Milkweed plants in the yard, so looking forward to some caterpillars. This picture is another arrival from today (July 30). Looks like a male also.
