Two male monarchs seen nectaring on two well hydrated roadside patches of fascicularis milkweed growing along an apparently spring fed creek in the dry (drought conditions) foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains about 6 miles northeast of Mokelumne Hill, CA along Highway 26 and about 40 miles southeast of Sacramento, Calif. July 27, 2013 elevation 1,796 feet.
